What is a custom herbal blend? What does it do for your hair?
Pure henna releases a red-orange dye that oxidizes into shades of brown. Other herbs release dyes in different colors. Adding different herbs to henna can change the color into shades of blonde, brunettes, and even black. Almost any natural hair color can be made by mixing different herbs in various ratios.
The results of herbal dyes varies from person to person. No two individuals will ever get the same color.
Your hair color is unique to you. Melanin produced by your body determines what your hair color will be, even when you begin to grey. Depending on the pigment of your natural hair color, herbs can tint white & grey hair to blend into your natural color. If you have chemically treated hair, there's options to help you transition into a shade that works best with your greys.
ENHANCING HAIR COLOR
Many times I've heard of people dying their hair because they feel it's a "mousy brown" color and "lackluster". Using chemical dyes will not add vibrancy or depth to your color, it will actually dry it out and cause it to lose even more shine. Herbal treatments add depth, shine, and vibrancy to otherwise dull hair and create multi-dimensional results by bringing out your natural highlights; it does not dye hair a one-tone flat color. Instead of completely changing your hair color, herbal dyes add a tint over your existing hair pigment, bringing out the different tones in your hair.
BALANCING THE SCALP & IMPROVING CONDITION OF YOUR HAIR
Healthy hair begins at the scalp.
Growing healthy hair is like taking care of a plant. If you not provide a healthy environment for it to thrive in; proper soil, watering, allowing it to get sunlight, preventing pests from getting to it, the plant withers and dies or gets a disease and becomes ill. Just likes an ill plant, you can't treat just the leaves, you must address the root cause of it's illness. Hair is just the same, you must provide your body a proper diet and take care of the scalp, not just your hair.
Every herb has different properties that alters the way hair feels. Some herbs are potent anti-fungals that clear dandruff well, but loosen curls quite a bit. For us who love our curls, we opt for a different plant that is also a natural anti-fugal but enhances curls. No two plants are the same but they can have similar benefits; mixing the right blend can deliver a color that works for you at the same time as providing scalp care without changing your hair texture.
